Giorgio Viera, was born in Havana, Cuba in 1972.
He studied film photography at the Higher Institute of Art
of Havana (ISA). Through his work, he seeks to relate
and involve his viewer with the environment of the forgotten.
Although this is a constant through his photo-reports,
he never neglects the poetic vision that reality offers in everyday life
and that goes mostly unnoticed.
That is why his vision is not aggressive, but moving.
His condition as an islander and immigrant,
having to embrace another nation as his own,
opens his eyes to any corner of the world to observe
and make us return to that universe that we sometimes ignore.
His work has been exhibited in Colombia, Mexico, Cuba,
the Netherlands, the United States, the Dominican Republic,
France, Germany and Japan.
He has obtained various awards such as:
Word Press Photo Daily Life 2004.
He is a contributor to the AFP, EFE and Getty agencies.
